Carrie and I had the pleasure of photographing Katherine & Pedro’s wedding at the beautiful Olde Mill Inn a few weeks ago. It is always special for us to work here as we held our own wedding reception at The Olde Mill Inn as well! This wedding was unique in a number of ways. The most significant was that Pedro and Katherine met years ago in Pedro’s native Ecuador. She was studying abroad at the time and the two quickly became inseparable. The long distance romance continued for years even after Katherine returned to the states, and on a visit here over the holidays, Pedro proposed. The blending of not only two families, but two cultures as well made the day extra special. On a personal note, it was great seeing a couple of bridesmaids we have photographed before reprising their role for Katherine on her wedding day!
In the run up to the wedding, Katherine said she two things she was looking forward to on the wedding day were visiting with long time, far away friends and dancing the night away. Both were totally accomplished! Our friend Paul from Paul Anthony Event Group kept the dance floor packed the entire night. I’m really not kidding about that…in all my years of doing this, I have NEVER seen that many people on a dance floor for that period of time. I honestly don’t think there were more than 10 guests in their seats the entire evening! Narrowing this one down to a manageable blog post was extremely difficult!
