Maskers Barn Wedding | Chelsea + Matt

Sometimes we are lucky enough to get unique weddings and Chelsea and Matt’s wedding at Maskers Barn at The Deserted Village certainly fit the bill.  Maskers Barn is a event venue available for rent in the deserted village in the Watchung Reservation.  But this unique venue on this hot and steamy summer day was only the second beginning for what’s been a long story for this couple.  Chelsea and Matt met through a mutual friend when they were teenagers.  The part of their story than ended up with us here began on a freezing cold night in Central Park when Matt proposed during a horse drawn carriage ride through the park.  Chelsea told me that one of the things that drew her to Maskers Barn was the natural scenery of the location and the fact that they would be having their ceremony in the woods surrounded by nature.  The day progressed from getting ready at the nearby hotel to the first look and photos throughout the deserted village.  From there, it was on to their woodland ceremony and then dancing the night away in the barn.  I pretty sure both Chelsea and Matt had a smile on their face ALL day.  Even the visit from the fire department at the end of the night due to a faulty sprinkler system couldn’t dampen the mood!!
