One of the most common questions I receive is: what happens if it rains on my wedding day? Annie, Alex, and their entire bridal party’s answer to that question is what every photographer dreams of…you play in the rain! I wish every one of our couples and wedding parties were as laid back and relaxed as this group. When it became clear that Annie and Alex were going to have a “little” bit (buckets!) of rain on their wedding day, I wasn’t sure they were still up for the plan to meet at Colonial Gardens for the first look and photos before their ceremony. Annie said that the rain wasn’t going to stop their group and boy was that an understatement! With umbrellas in hand and at the ready, we slopped through the mud, jumped the puddles, and had the best time with this group! Seriously, I’ve never seen a party totally embrace the bad weather the way they did and it totally shows in the photos! No grumpy faces or complaining with this group. I think a few of them may have even jumped in the mud if I’d have let them (which I didn’t because it was before the ceremony)!
After our rain filled morning of photos, it was off to the church to dry out…oh, and get these two married. The orthodox ceremony was one of the most beautiful one’s we’ve witnessed in a long time. Following the ceremony, it was off to the Hyatt in New Brunswick for their reception. After the year we’ve all had, it was great to see a full house and packed dance floor again. Did I mention this group danced?? Take a look below for some of the shenanigans on the dance floor!
