High school sweethearts Audrey and David celebrated their wedding day at Davids Country Inn and Carrie and I were thrilled to be a part of it! Audrey had a vision of a country and rustic wedding and Davids provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. Being together for so long, the wedding was like a giant family reunion on both sides. The couple describe themselves as laid back and with a great sense of humor and their personality definitely showed in their wedding photos.
While the road to this day began a long time ago, the “official” start to their wedding planning began with a trip to NYC. As Audrey described it: “He proposed to me on Jan. 2nd in NYC at the tree. It was a trip for our 6 year anniversary. The day started out on the train, and I am a brat so I literally patted him down to feel for a ring. When I didn’t feel it at all I kind of calmed down. After that I was just trying to enjoy our day in the city. He took me to see the nutcracker that afternoon. After the show i wanted to go see the tree before dinner. Dave was acting so weird at the show he was sweating, and every time I asked him to take his jacket off he wouldn’t. So when we got to the tree I went up close, and started to complain about how ugly it was. That I have seen better trees. While I was looking at the tree I felt someone touching my arm. I turned around fast and said ” what”. I know it sounds mean, but hey in NY I didn’t know who was touching me. So when I turned around, David was on his knee and I just froze because I didn’t see this coming at all. He had hidden the ring well. After I realized what he was saying I started to cry. I was beyond happy my tears were flowing. I can say for David he was nervous and happy. Knowing him for so long, I can say the love and happiness was just flowing off him. It was Amazing. The proposal was small and intimate just like us.” I absolutely love this story and I am so glad I was able to be a part of their day.
